Susan
Benjamin is a faculty member in the Art Therapy/Counseling
program. She did undergraduate work at Virginia Commonwealth
University and The New School, completing her BA in Applied
Psychology and MA in Art Therapy at Southwestern College.
Susan is also a Clinically Certified Domestic Violence
Counselor.
She
was a director of the Santa Fe Family Center for 11 years
working in recovery of child abuse and domestic violence
with adults, children and families. As well as having
a private practice in Santa Fe, she also works for Upaya
Zen Center in the juvenile detention system teaching meditation
and creativity, and facilitates a weekly group at Upaya
for people living with illness and dealing with grief
and loss. Susan has been a student of Zen Buddhism since
1972 and values how Zen and psychology compliment each
other. She believes everyone and everything is a teacher
and a shared experience, and we all can have
fun with life and learning. |
