Jenks, DOM, LPAT, ATR
Paul is a native to New Mexico having grown up in the
village of Corrales just north of Albuquerque. Paul studied
Painting and Drawing at the University of New Mexico receiving
his BFA in 1985, then began studies in the Archetypal
Art Therapy program under the tutelage of Howard McConeghy
and Josie Abbenante. Paul graduated with his MA in 1988
and migrated to the pacific northwest where he began his
art therapy career at an inpatient psychiatric hospital
in Portland, OR.
After
a couple of years Paul returned to Albuquerque where he
continued his inpatient art therapy work at Presbyterian
Kaseman Hospital. In 1998 Paul left Kaseman and began
studies in Oriental medicine but also found himself working
part-time at ArtStreet a Program of Albuquerque HealthCare
for the Homeless and also at Lovelace's outpatient program
for psychiatric and drug/alcohol rehabilitation clients.
In 2002 Paul began to practice as a Doctor of Oriental
Medicine in the Albuquerque area and continues as such
today. Paul has since left Lovelace and ArtStreet and
begun to teach in Southwestern College's Art Therapy Program
in Santa Fe.
