By re-imagining the inherent qualities in a certain material or the traditional methods of usage, we can create new materials or interpretations that convey a connection to and respect for local precedent. We ask that each participant bring in five postcards of Santa Fe that they believe are emblematic of the character of the place. We will use these as the basis of an exercise that will try to shift the character of the image from one that is general to one that is specific to the perceptions of the participant.
