Bob Deane, M.A., LPCC, is the Clinical Director of Tierra Nueva Counseling Center.
Bob has worked with at-risk youth in many different settings for many years.. After moving to Santa Fe from Maine in 1998, he obtained his Master’s Degree in Counseling from the College of Santa Fe and worked for 2 school years as the therapist at the La Madera School, the Santa Fe Public School’s K-12 school for behaviorally challenged students. From there, he went on to work for Youth Shelters and Family Services, first as the Youth Shelter’s therapist and eventually became the Shelter Program Director. He helped start the Hope Springs intensive out-patient gender specific program for boys and worked as the Children’s Intake/Assessment Coordinator for the SF Community Guidance Center for five years. He did hundreds of same-day suicide assessments for the public schools in that position. From there, he became an adult therapist at SFCGC working with severely mentally ill adults and facilitating several psychotherapy groups a week; a Suboxone Group, a Parenting Group for parenting and pregnant moms in the Suboxone program, a Depression/Bipolar Process Group and a DBT skills group.. He was also a member of the Mobile Crisis Team at SFCGC during his time there. He is currently the Clinical Services Supervisor at the Valley Community Health Center in Española.
