Traditional, time-tested, earth-based healing ways from North and South American indigenous cultures and their applicability in modern mental health practice will be presented. Ancient healing practices including Medicine Wheel teachings, cleansing heavy energies, earth based meditations, and working ceremonially with Spirit on behalf of individuals as well as the collective will be experienced and discussed.

Carol Parker, Ph.D., LPCC, is the director of the Transformational Eco-psychology Certificate program and chair of the counseling program at SWC. She is trained as a vision quest guide with the School of Lost Borders and has studied with indigenous healers from the Amazon and the Andes. Since 1997 she has led groups to sacred sites in the southwestern US, Peru, Hawaii and the Yukon
