We offer a Master's Degree in Counseling and a Master's in Art Therapy/Counseling (the only one in New Mexico), with a strongly holistic emphasis. Our clinically seasoned and highly accomplished faculty members create transformational learning environments, wherein students are afforded opportunities for deeply meaningful interaction and sharing. The rigorous academic work follows national standards for the Counseling and Art Therapy professions. The interwoven academic and experiential components include time for active self-reflection and integration of the learning, which is critical to completing the learning experience. We find that this approach leads ultimately to our students becoming extremely effective, licensed professionals and agents of personal and social change.
We pride ourselves on offering a truly holistic, inclusive curriculum, with theories and readings ranging from ancient wisdom traditions to the most cutting-edge developments in Interpersonal Neurobiology, and from the spiritually based traditions to Jungian Psychology to Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to indigenous healing approaches. The integrity and quality of our unique approach are reflected in both our recent re-accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission for ten years, and in our approval by the American Art Therapy Association. We are proud to be able to walk a holistic path, and to have national accrediting bodies understand, respect and honor what we are doing. It is very rewarding for the institution, our students and our graduates.
